Food For Good Roadshow@ Sham Shui Po was held on 31 October, 2013.
"Food For Good" visited Sham Shui Po on 31 October, 2013. Messages of healthy dining and food waste reduction were introduced to the neighbourhood residents. We also shared the joy of cooking with the residents. During the event, members of "Food For Good Tuen Mun Community Kitchen" gave lucky bags and packaged meals to 500 low-income residents. Mrs. Regina Leung Tong Ching-yee, Founder and Patron of Food For Good, made chocolate with orange peels using edible leftover food. Dr. Joyce Tsang, Convenor of Community Kitchen Sub-committee of "Food For Good", demonstrated how to make a low salt and low oil dish, sautéed choi sum, using food recycled. Prof. Joe Leung Cho-bun, MH, JP, Chairman of Food For Good, said it was hoped that this event could help spread the messages of recycling usable materials and giving them to the needy as well as reducing waste at source, so that there would be concerted efforts on reducing food waste. We would like to thank the suppliers and volunteers for their support, so that the vision of Food For Good could be widely promoted.
